Prince's Trust Donation: The Queen
I recently attended the Windsor Contemporary Art Fair as a exhibitor. The Prince's Trust also attend and have a stand where they sell small, 8x8" paintings that have been donated by the other exhibitors. Last year I painted Prince Charles, so this year I went for the Queen herself.
The fair opened at 6pm on Friday evening. By 6:20pm, my portrait of the Queen had sold. It was the first one to sell. All proceeds go to the Prince's Trust. A lady who had seen me hand it over to the Prince's trust stand, saw me return at 6:20pm. I squinted my eyes and tried to locate my portrait. Out of the corner of my eye I saw this lady, sitting on a stool at a high table, signalling with her hands: she's was mouthing "it's gone, it's gone - first one to go!"
