Darcey

Darcey belongs to the owners of the Lakeside Garage in Wraysbury. Some dogs are cute. Some dogs are handsome. Some dogs look joyful. Some look sombre and doleful. Some dogs look strong, fit, jocular - some dogs have something that you can't put a word on. Darcey is pretty.

So dogs don't look like girls or boys, but Darcey has just a glint of the feminine that flicks across her corneas. Her beautiful, soft, velvety ears tumble down the sides her face in golden and auburn tresses, which highlight perfectly against an umber backdrop. I painted her with the beauty in mind - light eyes; thick naive strokes for the ears and pinks, blues and crimsons in the nose. I just honed in on the prettiness.
