Andy Barclay, the excellent tennis coach from the Royal Berkshire Racket Club in Bracknell commissioned me to paint his daughter and his niece as a gift for his mother on Mother's Day. I like the way that the younger Mazy exploded forward towards and out of the image, and AT you, whereas her slightly older cousin has learned a little self-consciousness; has begun to develop her photograph pose, as we all inadvertently develop as we grow older. She slinks back slightly, she's cooler, more reserved, and it shows. Funny how those couple of extra years make a difference. Two very happy looking girls, nonetheless.
